About Rebecca's Entrepreneurial Journey

My name is Rebecca Cesar and I am one of the co-founders and CEO for Tinted Health. I created Tinted Health as a way to advocate for more accountability and credibility within medicine for patients of color. I have 16 years of healthcare experience and have held various leadership positions within many health organizations spearheading and creating change. I have worked alongside patients and providers alike understanding their needs and driving operational efficiencies. I have been credited with technology implementations across health systems on a wide scale and leveraging strategic partnerships to create accessible care options for patients. I have obtained my MHA in health administration and my doctorate in health systems management, bridging my work experience with my education. I have dedicated my career to health equity and how I can contribute to improving health outcomes for all.

Share with us how your personal journey has shaped your business’s values and strengths, and how those experiences will be highlighted in the upcoming Minority Women Lead live pitch competition.

My personal journey as a first-generation college student with immigrant parents has greatly influenced the values and strengths of my business. Growing up, I understood the transformative power of education in building knowledge and creating opportunities, a value instilled in me by my family. With a passion for the healthcare industry, particularly in management, I aimed to enhance the patient experience, especially for underserved populations.

As a minority health executive, I encountered various challenges, including the lack of representation and limited mobility for minority leaders and patients. These experiences demanded finesse in diplomacy, collaboration with stakeholders, and the cultivation of integrity and transparency within teams. It is through these experiences and the awareness of existing gaps that Tinted Health was born, aiming to address these issues.

The values I developed during my journey are deeply ingrained in the foundation of Tinted Health. They drive my perseverance and determination. Recognizing the systemic challenges and inequities faced by women of color, I am motivated to push forward. My mother’s advice, “Love the process more than the outcome, and you will always find your why,” resonates with me. It reminds me that life is a journey with many paths, and by focusing on the present moment, success will come regardless of the obstacles.

In the upcoming Minority Women Lead live pitch competition, I plan to convey this message. I will share a compelling story that resonates with everyone in the room, highlighting the mission Tinted Health aims to achieve. This opportunity allows me to showcase why I am the right leader to bring Tinted Health to the forefront and gain support from a community of women.

On stage, my passion for my business and the mission it serves will shine through. I will demonstrate the impact Tinted Health can make and how I am actively working towards solving the identified problem. This competition provides a platform to showcase my leadership and rally support from a community of like-minded women.

Overall, this opportunity is a chance to showcase the values and strengths that have shaped my journey and Tinted Health. I am excited to share my story, inspire others, and garner support for my business.
