Diana Zschaschel is an all-around inspiration with several interests demonstrated through her background as a dentist, army reservist, and partner at Yambu Productions. She has a passion for Cuban heritage and hopes to keep the memory of her mother’s culture alive through education and entertainment at Yambu Productions. 

Yambu Productions is an LA-based company that provides Latin culture to the surrounding community via music management, concert production, and festival production. They are most known for hosting the only Cuban festival in Los Angeles – this year’s will happen on August 29. The festival immerses individuals in Cuban culture with music, art, dance, and culinary delicacies.

What does success mean to you? Have you achieved the goals you envisioned? 

Success means different things to different people. For some it is financial success; for others, it is prestige and still for others, it is the impact they make on the community. Yambu Productions is dedicated to making a difference in Los Angeles County by providing Latin events and education about Latin culture to Angelenos. Our goal is to support Latin artists and musicians to be featured in our events. We want to exemplify the diversity of Latin culture in Los Angeles. 

Did you face any unique challenges along the way being a woman business owner of color? 

Working in the field of entertainment, there are many challenges that Latin women face in a male-dominated industry like Latin music. I have been ignored by male counterparts or looked over for contracts.  

What do you still want to accomplish?  

Our vision at Yambu Productions is to expand our platform to include more education and open to a larger audience.  

What role does your business play in your community?  

We provide diverse Latin entertainment sorely needed in LA. We offer the ability for Angelenos to learn about Latin culture while still being entertained.  

What does your business offer and to whom? 

Safe secure entertainment, opportunities to local artists and musicians to give them exposure to larger audiences.
