About Linda's Entrepreneurial Journey

Through my personal journey, I have witnessed and experienced the mental health challenges faced by my family and community. I became a social worker and mental health therapist to create the resources that are needed. I am committed to addressing the gaps in the system and providing culturally responsive resources. In the upcoming Minority Women Lead pitch competition, I will highlight how my experiences have driven me to bridge the gaps in mental health support and promote healing within our Asian American community. Together, we can address the stigma, build necessary resources, and foster community healing.

About Linda's Pitch

Yellow Chair Collective was born from a deep sense of purpose to serve the mental health needs within the Asian American community, the least likely group to seek these services. I was inspired to become a social worker and therapist after witnessing the challenges my own friends and family faced in accessing support. The Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent rise in anti-Asian hate crimes highlighted the urgency to address the gaps in service provision. Our business plan aims for a broader impact by going beyond traditional therapy and incorporating support groups, community education, and outreach events, all with a strong focus on accessibility and cultural understanding and competence. We firmly believe in the importance of personalized and community-centered care. Seeing the transformative impact of our work has only strengthened our commitment to make culturally responsive support readily available and to empower both individuals and communities on their healing journeys.
